Overview:
SECTOR OVERVIEW

Our Environmental Sector delivers comprehensive environmental solutions to meet the full project lifecycle needs of clients in renewable energy, oil - gas, transportation, and manufacturing industries. With one of the largest multimedia air and land permitting and compliance teams in the country, we support client success in manufacturing and industry, liquids delivery and processing, natural gas storage and delivery, power generation and delivery, and transportation projects.

 

POSITION SUMMARY

TRC is seeking an entry-level Environmental Scientist / Industrial Hygiene Technician to join our Woburn, MA Office. This position is within our Building Sciences and Industrial Hygiene business line within TRC's Environmental Sector. Entry-level candidates with at least a High School education or prior work experience will be considered.

Responsibilities:
 

Perform project oversite and air monitoring during asbestos and other hazardous/regulated building materials such as mold, lead, mercury, etc.

Perform microscopical analysis of air samples using phase contrast microscopy.

Conduct water intrusion/water leak investigations.

Perform industrial Hygiene exposure assessments.

Perform indoor air quality building evaluations.

Collect air samples as required by various regulatory agencies.

Prepare project chains of custody.

Prepare project daily log

Interact with client, contractors and regulatory agencies. A consultative demeanor and ability to work with customers / clients and offer solutions when needed

Interpret project specifications and drawings.

Prepare field reports.

Travel to various job sites, primarily in Eastern Massachusetts and occasionally other New England states.

Qualifications:
Prior experience in the environmental, asbestos abatement, indoor air quality, and industrial hygiene industries is a plus.

Minimum of an Associate-s Degree in Environmental Science or related field.

Current or prior certification as an Asbestos Inspector and Project Monitor is a plus.

Strong verbal communication skills.

Adaptability and flexibility to various work schedules including days, evenings, and weekends, as required.

Respond to emergency response scenarios.

Intuitive and creative thinker. Understanding of project surroundings and reasons the services are being provided..

Work as a team player.

Ability to carry and climb ladders and use hand and power tools.

Ability to wear a respirator, safety harness and other safety equipment as needed

Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check, drug screen, physical and motor vehicle records check.

Valid Driver-s License is required

Must be able to commute to project sites as-needed

Candidates are required to successfully pass a drug test prior to employment or within five working days from date of hire in addition to a pre-employment background check, physical and motor vehicle records check
