Provides nutrition care to inpatients and outpatients through assessment and nutrition care plans. Provides resources for nutrition information.

Responsibilities:
Patient care and development.Assesses patients and documents a plan.

Calculates special diets.

Educate patient for nutritional needs.

Document according to department standards.

Patient nutritional education.Nutritional counseling to inpatients and outpatients.

Documentation of education

Visit and evaluate patient.Conducts meal rounds daily.

Nutritional resource to the hospital and community.

Liaison between patient and physician.

Training programs.Attends all license programs.

Attends all hospital programs.

Maintains copies of CDR credentialing and RI licensure on file.

Abides by the standards set forth by The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics

Meets department goals and objectives.Supports hospital mission, policies and procedures.

Attends staff meetings.

Promotes effective working relations

 

Qualifications:
EDUCATION

 

B.S. degree from an accredited college or university with successful completion of an accredited /approved American Dietetic Association didactic program in dietetics required. Successful completion of a post -baccalaureate certificate program in dietetics/dietetic internship required. Must have completed and maintained requirements for Dietetic Registration (RD).

 

EXPERIENCE

 

One year experience as a clinical dietitian preferred.

 

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION

 

RI license.
Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) credentialed.
American Dietetic Association Membership preferred.
