About the Role 

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Mechanical Engineering Intern to join our Engineering team. The successful candidate will assist in various aspects of mechanical engineering projects, including assembly, process documentation, and entry-level CAD design. This internship offers valuable hands-on experience in a dynamic engineering environment. 

 

This position reports to the Custom Solutions Director. This position is onsite in our Canton Ohio location and has an hourly rate of $18-$19/hour. 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 

Assembly Support: 

Assist in the assembly of mechanical components and systems under the guidance of senior engineers. 

Collaborate with team members to ensure accurate and efficient assembly processes. 

Troubleshoot and resolve assembly issues as they arise. 

Process Documentation: 

Document assembly processes and procedures accurately and comprehensively. 

Update existing assembly documentation as necessary to reflect changes and improvements. 

Ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements in all documentation. 

CAD Design: 

Utilize CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) to create and modify mechanical designs. 

Assist in the development of 2D and 3D models, drawings, and prototypes. 

Collaborate with engineers to incorporate design changes and enhancements. 

Project Support: 

Provide support to engineering projects by conducting research, gathering data, and performing analysis as needed. 

Assist in the testing and evaluation of mechanical systems and components. 

Participate in project meetings and contribute ideas and insights. 

Communication and Collaboration: 

Communicate effectively with team members to ensure alignment on project goals and priorities. 

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, and Product Development, to achieve project objectives. 

Seek guidance and feedback from senior engineers to enhance learning and professional development. 

 

Requirements

KNOWLEDGE AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS  

Currently enrolled in an Engineering Program, pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. 

Junior or Senior standing preferred. 

Strong academic performance. 

Proficiency in CAD software, such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD, is desired. 

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 

Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. 

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. 

Demonstrated interest in mechanical engineering through coursework, projects, or extracurricular activities.
