Location Description:
Hawks Cay Resort, an iconic destination resort in the Florida Keys, reopened in August 2018 following a $50 million renovation. Overview:
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Reports directly to the Resort Experience Director. Has a direct reporting relationship to Recreation Activities Supervisor, Entertainment Hosts, and Activity Attendants. Activities Manager has a dotted line reporting relationship to Recreation Operation Supervisors and Recreation Operation Attendants.
JOB SUMMARY: The Activities Manager works closely with the Recreation Operations Manager to realize the vision of the Resort Experience Director. Activities Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of Camp Hawk kids camp program, resort entertainment, on-site activities, and any administrative responsibilities related to the above.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Recruit, hire, train (in coordination with HR Recruiter), schedule and evaluate activities and entertainment crew.
Constantly evaluate the existing program, making necessary changes and improvements. Provide diversity and safety of participants.
Increase attendance and awareness for activities by developing and displaying brochures, posters, showcases, etc. Ensure communication with Reservations, Sales and Front Desk regarding rates and dates.
Accountable for ordering supplies and monitoring daily revenue and costs.
Process time records on a weekly basis.
Adhere to budget.
Monitor, evaluate, and assist in house entertainers and hosts.
Perform other duties (administrative, budgetary, proposals, sales, etc.) as directed by Resort Experience Director or company policy.
Provide a safe and fun environment for the guests by daily monitoring of the activity hosts regarding cleanliness and housekeeping of the green room, technical theatre equipment, lobby, lounge, camp room, chairs, pool and pool deck, playground, and other outdoor play facilities.
Entertainment program: Implement and monitor entertainment program and conduct rehearsals, activity hosting training, and oversee technical theater operations. Ensure a quality and engaging entertainment program.
Camp Hawk: Manage the Camp Hawk program including: Environmental education, Kids Night Out and Teen programs.
Activities Program: Assist Director of Resort Experience in implementing an engaging and quality activities program for all ages. Oversee implementation, activity hosting and daily operations of activities program.
Inclement weather activities: Lead/Implement activities during inclement weather or supervise recreation interns if on property.
Convention/Group Activities: Assist in planning and leading Team building events, Treasure Hunts, etc., for groups during their stay.
Vacation/Special Event Activities: Plan, promote and implement activities for all holidays; create new special events..
Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS:
College graduate with a degree in theatre, musical theatre, performing arts or arts administration
Experience hosting and emcee events.
Cruise Line, Camp and/or Theatre experience desired.
Must have excellent English oral and written communication skills and be able to establish a rapport with our guests, their children, club and staff members.
The ability to speak a foreign language will be considered to be a definite plus.

Required to work weekends, holidays, day and evening shifts
WORKING CONDITIONS:
The majority of working hours will be completed outside in varying temperatures and conditions including high heat and rain.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants should be in excellent physical condition, capable of bending, kneeling, climbing and easily lifting 50lbs.
