Job Details:
Formulates, develops, and coordinates safety of the organization. Designs and directs a program to reduce accidents, occupational illnesses, and exposure hazards through safety-training of supervisors and managers, planned inspections, skill training, emergency preparedness, physical protections, rules and practices, job analysis/procedures, disposal procedures, and protective equipment. Maintains compliance with governmental regulatory agencies. Responsible for identifying causes of past accidents.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

            Education:

            Associate degree in nursing, Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred       

Licensure/Certification:

Holds a current/valid, unrestricted license as a Registered Professional Nurse.

            Skills, Knowledge or Abilities:

Thorough understanding of the organization's goals and values

Computer, data entry and MS Office skills

Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken

Ability to handle private, sensitive, confidential information appropriately

Strong attention to detail and organization

Strong working knowledge of risk management and previous experience working with risk (i.e. risk assistant or risk analyst)

Solid research skills using the internet and first-person interviews

           Physical Requirements:

      Ability to perform heavy lifting, push wheelchair and stretchers.

Ability to stand for periods of time, ability to bend.

            Experience:

      Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Registered Professional Nurse.

      Previous experiences as a nurse in a managerial/supervisory position..

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Major duties and responsibilities of the Risk Manager include but are not limited to:

Conduct assessments to define and analyze possible risks

Evaluate the gravity of each risk by considering its consequences

Audit processes and procedures

Develop risk management controls and systems

Design processes to eliminate or mitigate potential risks

Create contingency plans to manage crises

Evaluate existing policies and procedures to find weaknesses

Prepare reports and present recommendations

Help implement solutions and plans

Evaluate employees’ risk awareness and train them when necessary

Review and investigate patient, and employee accident incident reports.

Review and analyze medication incidents.

In charge of safety & safety coach programs.

Participates in the investigation of grievances in collaboration with social work.

Addresses any reports of unsafe conditions and defective equipment and submits work request as necessary.

Is knowledgeable of emergency policies & procedures and participates in emergency drills.

Appearance: Is well groomed, uses proper attire in keeping with uniform code, including identification badge.

Creates and maintains an atmosphere of courtesy and respect toward employees and families.

Is alert and willing to assist employees, residents and families in an enthusiastic manner.

Demonstrates CHS core values/behaviors, Integrity, Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence in practice.

Attends and or completes all mandatory in-service programs in a timely manner.

Demonstrates a commitment to the position through regular and punctual attendance.

Is flexible in response to emergencies or schedule changes which may include off hours and extended shifts at times.

Shows initiative in assuming other duties within scope of position.

Collaborates with nursing team regarding care needs.

Promotes teamwork and assists co-workers as necessary.

Takes call for Nursing Administration as needed.

Performs other duties within scope as directed.

Posted Salary Range:
USD $54.07 - USD $60.82 /Hr.
