Overview:
We are hiring Water Treatment Operator B to help us keep growing. Responsible for operating, inspecting, maintaining, and reporting on the water treatment operations provided by the Environmental Department for our Tyler Pipe Texas plant location.

Responsibilities:
Perform all operations of the water treatment plant, learn to accurately read the control panel for proper flow rates, water temperatures, treatment solutions, sludge removal and pH water levels to assure enough treated water for plant operation. 

Will assist in gathering water samples, including storm water runoff, and running tests to maintain required pH level. 

Checks ferric and lime mixing stations as the need arises. 

Monitor water wells as needed. 

Assist in the draining and/or pumping of secondary containments throughout the facility. 

Learns to perform minor repairs and adjustments to motors and pumps and notifies management in case of major operational problems or needed supplies. 

Perform various inspections throughout the facility routinely. 

Waste / Stabilization Operations: 

Operates Air Curtain Incinerator if needed. 

Will assist in gathering waste samples and treatment of hazardous waste to render it nonhazardous. 

Assist in the loading of all waste shipments. 

Prepare Universal Waste for shipment. 

Perform various inspections throughout the facility routinely. 

Assist with the clean-up of spills throughout the facility as needed. 

Other Misc. Duties / Not Limited To: 

Must be forklift certified or be able to be forklift certified. 

Must be able to write legibly, fill out documents properly and logbooks. 

Will be responsible for own work and must be able work with limited supervision. 

Maintains clean and orderly work area. 

Wear the required personal protective equipment and follow safety rules and procedures. 

Performs other miscellaneous duties as the need arises. 

Qualifications:
Special Requirements: 

Must pass handwriting legibility test as a prerequisite to being awarded job. 

Must be able to obtain Texas D Wastewater license within a 6-month period. 

Must hold a valid Class C TX Driver License and comply with the McWane Safe Driving and Vehicle Loss Control Policy. 

 

Candidates for the Water Treatment Operator B position must meet the following requirements: 

Work 11:00 am - 9:00 pm; Monday - Thursday, plus Fridays depending on production schedule. 

Pass a written legibility test. 

Hold a valid Class C Driver's License and maintain a clean driving record for operating company vehicle. 

Verifiable and consistent work experience. 

Pass a pre-employment background check. 

Pass a pre-employment drug screening. 

Pass a pre-employment physical fitness test.  

Be 18 years of age or older. 

Candidates for the Water Treatment Operator B position should have: 

Ability and eagerness to be proficient with quality and meet prescribed production output objectives. 

Ability to work in a foundry environment which is hot and/or dirty at times. 

Ability to adapt to production demands and requirements. 

Teamwork by helping and volunteering across a variety of tasks. 

Understanding of the handling and use of mechanical tools and equipment. 

Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow all safety rules/procedures. 

Ability to maintain a clean and orderly work area. 

Excellent attendance and punctuality.
