Overview:
The primary role of the Safety Coordinator is to perform the functions of safety coordination for associates and drivers at Rural King. 

Responsibilities:
Work with HR to manage all areas of driver safety for RKT Fleet to include but not limited to:DQ Files for drivers and DOT required files and forms.

Safety and Accident files and procedures

Help maintain safety program for the fleet

Maintain People Net standards and tracking program

Work closely with dispatch on driver accountability for safety

DOT Inspections

Maintain all licensing, permits, and registrations for RKT Fleet

Maintain HOS and Logbooks

Manage insurance claims and outside carrier accidents

Review and manage all workers compensation claims

OSHA reporting and compliance

Partner with HR on safety improvements and initiatives

Develop safety handbook and safety training

Maintain 2290 taxes

Manage and maintain all safety reports

Conduct investigations and review all accidents and injuries

Communicate professionally with all Rural King personnel

Use general office equipment such as telephone, copy machine, fax machine, calculator, computer.

May be required to cross train and perform other duties

Qualifications:
2+ years in warehouse and/or trucking safety

Current knowledge of DOT regulations

Competent knowledge of computer fundamentals including all HR computer software programs, MS Word and Excel

Must be organized

Ability to interact with the team in a fast-paced environment, remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient

Ability to multi-task, coordinate, analyze, observe, make decisions, and meet deadlines in a detail-oriented manner

Ability to work independently without supervision

Excellent communication skills

Ability to participate in our online applicant and new hire onboarding process remotely

Ability to complete computer-based training

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to communicate effectively to all audiences

Good visual acuity

Close vision for computer work

Repetitive wrist movements on keyboard

Ability to sit/stand/walk for long periods of time

Ability to walk up and down stairs multiple times per day
