DC Safety Coordinator- Waverly

The primary role of the Safety Coordinator is to perform the functions of safety coordination for associates and drivers at Rural King.

* Work with HR to manage all areas of driver safety for RKT Fleet to include but not limited to:
* DQ Files for drivers and DOT required files and forms.
* Safety and Accident files and procedures
* Help maintain safety program for the fleet
* Maintain People Net standards and tracking program
* Work closely with dispatch on driver accountability for safety
* DOT Inspections


* Maintain all licensing, permits, and registrations for RKT Fleet
* Maintain HOS and Logbooks
* Manage insurance claims and outside carrier accidents
* Review and manage all workers compensation claims
* OSHA reporting and compliance
* Partner with HR on safety improvements and initiatives
* Develop safety handbook and safety training
* Maintain 2290 taxes
* Manage and maintain all safety reports
* Conduct investigations and review all accidents and injuries
* Communicate professionally with all Rural King personnel
* Use general office equipment such as telephone, copy machine, fax machine, calculator, computer.
* May be required to cross train and perform other duties
* 2+ years in warehouse and/or trucking safety
* Current knowledge of DOT regulations
* Competent knowledge of computer fundamentals including all HR computer software programs, MS Word and Excel
* Must be organized
* Ability to interact with the team in a fast-paced environment, remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient
* Ability to multi-task, coordinate, analyze, observe, make decisions, and meet deadlines in a detail-oriented manner
* Ability to work independently without supervision
* Excellent communication skills
* Ability to participate in our online applicant and new hire onboarding process remotely
* Ability to complete computer-based training

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

* Ability to communicate effectively to all audiences
* Good visual acuity
* Close vision for computer work
* Repetitive wrist movements on keyboard
* Ability to sit/stand/walk for long periods of time
* Ability to walk up and down stairs multiple times per day
