Overview:
Support the Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program Director to provide new and/or updated rotation curriculum, new and/or updated milestones-based evaluations for each rotation, and new and/or updated resident manual.

Responsibilities:
Develop curriculum for each rotation by PGY year, indicating the Goals and Objectives required by PGY level. This should reflect the expectation for each resident to complete his or her PGY level for that rotation successfully.

Develop evaluations that use the ACGME Obstetrics and Gynecology Milestones (Second Revision) to assist the Residency Clinical Competency Committee with completing the semi-annual ACGME Milestone Report for each resident.

Develop evaluations to document specific milestone / procedure performance to capture real-time resident performance and track improvement / progression over time.

Revise current Program evaluation completed by residents to improve resident feedback regarding their experiences with their learning environment.

Revise current Faculty evaluations completed by residents to improve feedback given to the individual Faculty as part of their annual department evaluation.

Develop Peer-to-peer evaluations that allow constructive, comprehensive, and feedback to program and individual residents.

Evaluate the current structure of the Residency Competency Committee and make recommendations to improve resident competency analysis, efficiency, and resident report generation more useful.

Revise the Obstetrics and Gynecology Resident Manual to reflect current ACGME, EVMS, and program policies and/or requirements.

Evaluate current design, structure, content of weekly resident didactic sessions to improve the educational experience of residents and prepare the residents for independent practice.

Review current indirect supervision policy and make recommendations on how to provide documentation of proficiency to maintain compliance with ACGME policy.

Suggest improvements to the methods currently in use by the program to evaluate and provide feedback to residents.

Evaluate our current policy and structure to assist a struggling resident.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field. Three (3) years of instructional design experience.  A Master’s degree is preferred.
