Overview:
JOB SUMMARY

The Overnight Supervisor will address any issues related to audit, security and any guest related issues during the shift. This position is responsible for the Front Office functions, and assumes responsibility for the entire hotel during the 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM shift.

 

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education:

Bachelor’s degree, preferably specializing in Hotel Management, Business Administration, and or related major or equivalent experience is required.

 

Experience:

Must have at least (2) or more years of previous Front Office or Guest Services experience, including complete understanding of all night audit functions.  

 

KEY RESPONSIBILTIES

The primary responsibilities for the Overnight Supervisor will include but are not limited to:

Assume responsibility for the hotel during the overnight shift.

Monitor performance and recommend/initiate corrective and/or disciplinary action, or other staffing/human resources-related actions in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Ensure all staff is properly trained and have the tools and equipment needed to effectively carry out their job functions.

Oversee and manage the Front Desk and Night Audit functions to ensure all guests are greeted upon arrival, and all reports are completed in a timely manner.

Respond appropriately to guest complaints. Implement appropriate service recovery gestures in order to ensure total guest satisfaction.

Ensure procedures are followed for security of monies, credit and financial transactions, and guest security.

Throughout shift, conduct routine inspections and walk-throughs of departments and public areas to ensure the appearance of such areas reflects highly on the hotel, brand, and Company. Correct any deficiencies.

Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments.

Will serve as “manager on duty” as required.

This position supervises all Overnight staff including but not limited to: Security, Guest Services, Front Office, Kitchen and Banquets. 

 

 

 

Qualifications:
JOB QUALIFICATIONS

In addition to performance of key responsibilities, this position may be required to possess a combination of the following skills and experiences:

Strong organizational and analytical skills, along with demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced work environment.

Demonstrated ability to work cohesively with a team.

Ability to exercise sound logic and judgment in evaluating situations and utilizing appropriate resources.

Must be self-directed, motivated and demonstrate exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.

Ability to communicate effectively in the English language, both verbally and in writing. A second language is desirable.

Must have experience in all Microsoft Office and industry relevant Front Office systems.

Problem solving, reasoning, motivating, organizational and training abilities are used often. May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
