Summary:
This position assists with employee wages and salary administration, the incumbent will assist with the administration of the Employee Incentive Plan, Executive Compensation Plan, and other compensation reward programs. This position plays a key role in supporting various initiatives required of the compensation program including the review and refinement of clinical compensation, pay structure updates, pay premium improvements and updates of policies and procedures for wage and salary administration.  

 

This position assists with the communication and administration of MyMichigan Health’s benefits plans and serves as a key benefits resource for all employees, retirees, and leaders. The position also processes change of status, new hire, and termination paperwork to assure proper benefits are offered or terminated. This position assists in preparing reports for premium processing, statistical reporting, and proper allocation of benefits to employees.

Responsibilities:
(30%)* Collaborate with Total Rewards team and leaders on compensation issues. Conduct position evaluations and position builds as needed to ensure internal and external equity.

 

(10%)* Assist with Total Rewards policy and procedure reviews to aid in ongoing benefits and salary administration.

  

(20%)* Supports the maintenance and administration of MyMichigan Health’s medical, pharmacy, dental, flexible spending account, Life, Long Term Disability (LTD), Short Term disability (STD), Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and voluntary benefits programs and databases. Creates improvements, updates records, and reconciles errors directly with internal team members and benefits service providers. Provides benefits information and education to all eligible employees.

 

(30%)* Works with employees and benefits service providers to resolve coverage issues and disputed claims relating to all benefits. Ensures that benefits plans are administered consistently, accurately, and according to plan document specifications.

 

(10%)* Stays updated and ensures compliance with all applicable rules and regulations, including Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (COBRA), Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA), Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Section 125, Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and other related federal and state laws.. Trouble shoots any issues, and works with internal team members and benefits service providers to resolve them.

 

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Assists with the coordination of annual benefits open enrollment.

 

Assists with rolling out changes and improvements to benefits plans and benefits administration policies and procedures.

 

Assists with Total Rewards and Human Resources projects as requested, including surveys, incentive programs, orientations, retiree programs and governance activities.

 

Provides outstanding customer service to all customers while performing job duties.

 

Assist with the design, administration, and continuous improvement of MyMichigan Health’s fixed and variable compensation programs, as well as merit pay process and incentive programs.

 

Provide ongoing compensation and rewards related communications, education and training to leaders and employees.

 

Support leaders and HR Strategic Partners (HRSP)with salary data requests and position evaluations.

 

Provide guidance to leaders and HRSP in responding to individual employees who have concerns with pay and related policies.

 

Assist Total Rewards and Human Resources (HR) team with projects as requested.

 

Provide excellent customer service to all customers while performing duties.

Certifications and Licensures:
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND SKILLS:

 

Two years of experience with benefits administration, management, or customer service required. At least two years of experience in compensation analysis and administration is required

 

High level of computer literacy, exceptional human relations and communication skills, and proficiency with data and statistics required.

  

Knowledge of benefits-related laws preferred.

 

Experience working with databases preferred.

 

Human Resources Management experience preferred.

 

Analytical skills necessary to develop summary reports, graphs, and trends; outstanding customer service skills; and excellent organizational skills are required.

 

Exceptional written and interpersonal skills needed to communicate successfully with individuals and groups are preferred.

 

Must be able to interact with people at all levels and communicate ideas and concepts in a clear, professional and understandable manner.

 

Ability to handle confidential information appropriately is required.

 

Expertise in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint is required.

Required Education:
Bachelor's degree in health care or a related field is required.
