Commercial Analyst

Summary of Position:

The role will include, but is not limited to, economic modeling, due diligence, and integration of investment opportunities at the acquisition and project level, evaluating commercial negotiations, conducting market analysis, and supporting investor relations. This position will report to the Senior Manager of Corporate Development in Midland, TX.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

The following represents most of the duties performed by the position but is not meant to be all-inclusive nor prevent other duties from being assigned when necessary. Employees are expected to comply with all regulatory, environmental, and safety rules and standards, as well as corporate policies.

The Commercial Analyst duties you will be responsible for include:

• Identifying and communicating with key stakeholders.
• Identifying specific business opportunities and ways to capitalize on them.
• Gathering, reviewing, and analyzing business and industry data, including KPIs, reports and other key metrics using data analytics tools.
• Liaise between various business departments and groups.
• Assessing options for process improvement, including business process modeling.
• Maintaining documentation regarding various projects, processes, and operations.
• Collaborating with project managers and cross-functional teams.
• Creating reports, dashboards, and visualizations to help others understand business performance.
• Understanding cost rates, financials, budgets, and forecasting for business planning.
• Working alongside engineers and other cross functional team members to analyze reports.
• Analyzing financial reports and suggesting strategies for improving business performance.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Have a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering or a related field.
• Have 2-4 years of finance, business development, or relevant experience in the oil and gas industry.
• Have experience running complex analysis, including financial modeling and valuation analysis.
• Have impeccable accuracy and attention to detail.
• Have proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Be able to effectively communicate and influence key stakeholders to support proposed strategies, process improvements and operational decisions.
• Experience testing and mapping various business processes and protocols.
• Be familiar with industry technology systems to gather data.
• Have analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Be adaptable and capable of working in fast-paced environments.
