Executive Summary
Apex Service Partners, a leading national company in the high growth residential home services industry, is seeking P&L Leader Interns who are passionate about helping to build a world-class organization with an interest in learning day-to-day operations of a residential home services business. The ideal candidate should be prepared to be embedded in a dynamic, cross-disciplined team environment within one of our brand locations. Through this leadership experience, the candidate will receive a broad, well-rounded education in the areas of all aspects of leading a successful business, including organic revenue growth, P&L management, performance metric management, and culture-building.

Apex Service Partners was founded through the acquisition of multiple leading home services businesses providing HVAC, plumbing and electrical services. This very fragmented industry is dominated by small and founder-owned businesses; these entrepreneurs, in many cases, have spent decades building companies that are respected essential services in their communities. Our strategy is to execute significant organic growth initiatives and high-frequency M&A.
This entrepreneurial roll-up strategy necessitates visionary, people-focused, high potential, motivated business leaders to bring best-in-class business practices.
Position Overview
At least 12 weeks in duration – depending on circumstances, the right candidate may continue in our program if invited, and available, after 12 weeks.
Apex can customize its P&L Leader Internship experience to a candidate’s situation, and will have a cohort of several from June 2024 – August 2024 (flexible based on academic calendar)
Full time (40+ hours per week)
This leadership role is suited for a strong competitor who excels in a fast-paced environment, often unstructured environment, driven by seizing opportunities in an industry that many overlook; our leaders are career contrarians with strong character and vision. The ideal candidate will be able to consider strategic, financial, and operational capabilities with a high level of emotional intelligence to help create a healthy, growing organization.
Candidate Requirements
Current MBA student (first- or second-year)
Desire to pursue General Management and executive track P&L ownership
High level of EQ; personable and adaptable
Ability and desire to work with blue-collar employees
Strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to apply critical thinking, risk analysis and develop solutions
A leader of character
A leader who inspires “followership” amongst the men and women they serve (manage)
Naturally comfortable in unstructured environments; “thinks on the fly” and “solves problems in real time” (we are an underdeveloped, underserved industry…and we’re impacting it quickly)

5-7 years of working in a transactional B2C marketing department with a proven track record of success as measured in YoY growth; Equivalent experience in Agency or B2B environment would also be considered.
Demonstrated experience with websites, Google AdWords, SEO and organic search, direct mailers, and social strategies
Experience analyzing churn metrics, sales funnel, engagement using Google Analytics and other BI tools
A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills
High attention to detail and quality standards
Highly effective project management, prioritization, multi-tasking, and time management skills to meet deadlines

Own lead generation for multiple shops within a region and work closely with Director of marketing on strategy for digital and traditional marketing tactics. This includes paid (SEM, Social, DM), earned (SEO/PR) and owned media (Email, Text, etc.)
Build and update dashboards and to measure and share performance KPI’s, optimize mix and share actionable insights with individual markets
Work closely with digital and traditional agencies to ensure on-budget spend and delivery against KPIs.
Develop and support community marketing initiatives (e.g., Chamber relationship, event sponsorship, etc.) in alignment with local leadership.
