Overview:
Manages and optimizes all the operation of EVMS database center servers, systems and applications. Provides timely, accurate, and consistent technical service and presentation to internal and external clients. Coordinates with other EVMS teams to identify and implement cost effective new systems to support EVMS business functions and operations.

Responsibilities:
Maintain and supervise appropriate staffing for the EVMS database center. Provide necessary staff training and development.

Responsible for developing plans and implementation strategies for campus-wide upgrades of both host and client relational databases.

Review, evaluate, design, implement, and maintain centralized relational databases and their related systems.

Develop strategies for data acquisitions, archive recovery, and implementation of a database.

Monitor performance of databases and all database system processes.

Meet with analysts and users to assess needs and requests and provide technical expertise in development and implementation of various database systems.  Interface with users to gather requirements and conduct business analysis.

Oversee development of custom enterprise systems that utilize state of the art programming and reporting utilities on multiple platforms.

Prepare systems development plans using established standards. 

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of database technologies, including new features, tools, PC techniques, and other technology related to IT industry.

Monitor and maintain servers as they relate to hosted applications and databases.

Ensure operational requirements for workstations, servers, and network resources are maintained for the institutions’ enterprise database systems.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Requires a bachelor's degree in computer science or related field and three (3) years’ experience in database development and support.
