Responsibilities:
As a Database Developer Intern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience working with our experienced team of developers to design, develop, and maintain our databases. This paid, part-time internship will provide you with valuable real-world experience in database management, SQL programming, and data analysis. This is a hybrid position. You will work in the Ashburn, VA location when required. 

Assist in the design, development, and implementation of database systems.

Work with senior developers to create and maintain database structures and objects, such as tables, indexes, views, and stored procedures.

Write and optimize SQL queries for data retrieval and manipulation.

Participate in data modeling and database schema design.

Collaborate with software developers to ensure efficient and seamless integration of databases with applications.

Help with database performance tuning and troubleshooting.

Support data migration and data loading tasks.

Assist in maintaining data integrity, security, and confidentiality in compliance with company policies and standards.

Contribute to the development of database documentation and user guides.

Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for process improvements.

Stay updated on emerging trends and technologies in database development.

Qualifications:
Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Strong knowledge of SQL and relational database management systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server).

Familiarity with data modeling concepts and techniques.

Understanding of database design principles and best practices.

Basic knowledge of programming languages such as Java, Python, or C# is a plus.

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

Strong attention to detail and ability to work with data accurately.

Good communication and teamwork skills.

Enthusiasm for learning and a proactive attitude.
