Overview:
SUMMARY Coordinates and oversees activities of the Assembly Staff to provide a safe working environment, produce high quality product, and meet production requirements by performing the following duties.  

Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL DTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:  

Performs product assembly and related activities for LED lighting fixtures and systems  

Utilize computer touch screen to navigate and select correct work instructions and wiring diagrams  

Verify that the line building is to plan  

Maintain and follow a priority list  

Operate hand pallet to move product  

Prep lines for inventory cell counts 

Set-up and prep orders to be built  

Evaluate the products by conducting a quality inspection to determine if it warrants a green or red tag  

Close out Work Orders as they are completed  

Maintain Hour by Hour sheets  

Communicates team productivity, order completion, and technical errors from beginning to end of shift  

Assists in training all new hires and current employees who transfer from other lines/departments  

Assist in retraining assemblers  

Assists in coaching assemblers to help trouble-shoot failing lights  

Relied upon to assist in employee growth by facilitating assembler certifications  

Produce incident reports and facilitate conflict resolution for employees on line  

Follow proper escalation plan when errors occur  

Monitor and enforce proper PPE is being worn  

Identify and facilitate resolution of issues with various groups including Engineering, Quality, Production Technology, Materials and Supervision  

Utilize Microsoft and outlook for communication  

Reports 15 minutes prior to shift start to set up lines and stay after production stops to finalize shift  

Contributes to help maintain our Recycling Process 

Build pilots/NPI with engineering support 

2nd escalation in training matrix 

Print MES and Labels 

Speak to team during Gemba Walks about Safety, Quality and Delivery 

Qualifications:
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:  

Successful in current position  

Effectively and consistently models and actively promotes Cree Lighting values  

6-months of similar manufacturing experience preferred  

Completion of 4 certifications is preferred  

 

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:  

Must be at least 18 years old  

Effectively contribute to end results as part of a team  

Flexibility to occasionally work mandatory overtime to meet production goals  

Ability to train efficiently and give feedback constructively

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:  

Ability to constantly stand up for an entire 10 hour shift  

Ability to frequently lift and carry 25 pounds and occasionally lift and carry 50 pounds  

Ability to walk occasionally  

Ability to twist/turn, stoop/bend, push/pull frequently  

Ability to reach above shoulder, forearm rotation, and neck strain occasionally  

Ability to read, write, count, and perform basic math accurately  

Ability to learn and operate hand and pneumatic assembly tools  

Ability to read and understand a production work order  

Ability to operate hand pallet  

Able to learn to accurately assemble, code, test, label and pack product
