Overview:We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and organized Payroll Clerk to join our team. The Payroll Clerk will be responsible for processing payroll accurately and timely, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and company policies. The ideal candidate will have strong numerical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities:

Process payroll for employees accurately and timely, including calculating wages, overtime, bonuses, and deductions.

Enter and maintain employee information in payroll system, including new hires, terminations, changes in status, and tax withholdings.

Review timecards, timesheets, or attendance records for accuracy and completeness, and address any discrepancies with employees or supervisors.

Calculate and process adjustments, such as retroactive pay, reimbursements, and garnishments, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Prepare and distribute payroll checks or direct deposits to employees on designated pay dates.

Reconcile payroll reports and tax filings to ensure accuracy and completeness, and resolve any discrepancies or issues as needed.

Assist employees with payroll-related inquiries, including questions about pay stubs, deductions, and tax withholdings.

Maintain confidentiality of employee payroll information and comply with data protection regulations.

Assist with year-end payroll activities, including W-2 preparation and distribution, and support audits as needed.

Stay updated on changes in payroll regulations and best practices, and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.

1-2 years of experience in payroll processing or related role.

Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex) and Microsoft Office Suite.

Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail, with the ability to accurately calculate wages, taxes, and deductions.

Knowledge of payroll laws and regulations, including wage and hour laws, tax withholding requirements, and payroll reporting.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with employees and internal stakeholders.

Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Strong organizational and time management skills, with a focus on efficiency and accuracy.

Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information with integrity.
