Overview:
This is a provisional appointment. 

 

Reporting to the Commander of the District, or an assigned designee, the Detectives Clerk will be assigned to District B-2 and will work closely and cooperatively with District Detectives to assist with daily functions.

Responsibilities:
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Assigning reports to detectives on a daily basis.

Typing reports, letters, memorandums, and other correspondence.

Data entry.

Tracking licensed premise violations and inspections.

Generating weekly reports based on information logged into the database.

Maintaining time and attendance records for Detectives.

Answering phone inquiries and giving information to the public.

Addressing and mailing correspondence.

Maintaining files and databases.

Perform related work as required.

Minimum Entrance Qualifications:
Applicants must have at least two (2) years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, paid professional experience in administrative office work. 

Proficiency with Microsoft applications and Google Suite is strongly preferred.  

Ability to exercise good judgment and focus on detail as required by the job. 

Excellent oral and written communication and organizational skills. 

 

CRIMINAL RECORD CHECK REQUIRED

A PRE-EMPLOYMENT DRUG TEST IS REQUIRED

BOSTON RESIDENCY REQUIRED
