MSP Support Engineer

Minnesota IT Partners Inc. is looking for an experienced MSP Support Technician II to join our growing managed IT and cybersecurity team.
This is a hands-on technical role for someone who enjoys troubleshooting challenging problems, working directly with clients, and taking ownership of issues from initial diagnosis through resolution.
We support organizations across multiple industries with Microsoft 365, Windows infrastructure, networking, cybersecurity, cloud services, backup, virtualization, and end-user technology.
What You’ll Do
• Own and resolve Level 2-3 technical support tickets and escalations
• Troubleshoot Windows 11 / Mac desktops and laptops, Windows Server 20xx
• Support Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint and Google Workspace.
• Administer Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID
• Support Windows Server environments
• Troubleshoot DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, VLANs, Wi-Fi, VPNs, and general network connectivity
• Work with and manage firewalls, switches, wireless infrastructure, and remote-access technologies
• Troubleshoot endpoint security, antivirus/EDR, MFA, and cybersecurity-related issues
• Assist with Azure & AWS virtual desktop, virtualization, and cloud environments
• Support printers, workstations, servers, mobile devices, and client applications
• Assist with backup monitoring, troubleshooting, and recovery
• Perform onsite technical work at client locations when necessary
• Participate in workstation, server, network, and Microsoft 365 projects
• Create and maintain accurate technical documentation
• Communicate clearly with clients throughout the troubleshooting process
• Identify security concerns and escalate appropriately
• Assist and mentor Level 1 & 2 technicians when needed What We’re Looking For
• 5+ years of professional IT support experience
• MSP experience strongly preferred
• Strong Windows troubleshooting skills
• Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration as well as Google Workspace
• Experience with Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID
• Understanding of and direct support experience with Windows Server environments
• Strong networking fundamentals including DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, VLANs, Wi-Fi, and VPNs
• Ability to troubleshoot issues independently and methodically
• Strong communication and customer-service skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and tickets
• Comfortable working directly with business owners and end users
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for client visits Experience That Would Be a Plus
• Performed Office 365 and Google Workspace migrations from stand alone environments
• Fortinet related firewall, switch, access point and EMS server experience
• Recovery experience with Datto BCDR and Axcient x360 Recover
• Server assembly and installation experience
• Domain Upgrade / Migration experience
• Network segmentation experience using VLANs and other control methods
• Voice over IP implementation experience and experience with supporting hosted voice Experience with any of the following is valuable:
• ConnectWise PSA and RMM
• Fortinet / FortiGate / FortiClient
• Microsoft Azure
• Azure Virtual Desktop
• Hyper-V
• FSLogix
• PowerShell
• Microsoft Defender
• SentinelOne or other EDR platforms
• Backup and disaster-recovery platforms
• Microsoft Intune

You know how to troubleshoot systematically, communicate with clients, document your work, and recognize when an issue needs to be escalated. You do not need to know every technology we support on day one, but you should be comfortable learning new systems and working through technical problems that may not have an obvious answer.
