Senior Accounting Manager
We are seeking a Senior Accounting Manager to own the day-to-day accounting function and help build the financial infrastructure of a growing organization. This is a hands-on role working closely with senior leadership, with real ownership over how our accounting operations run.
We’re looking for someone with strong judgment and common sense: a person who notices when something doesn’t look right, digs in to understand why, and fixes it without waiting to be told. In a growing company, many processes are still being built. The right person sees that as an opportunity to improve things, not a reason to wait for direction.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including AR, AP, payroll, and the monthly close.
• Ensure timely and accurate recording of financial transactions and preparation of GAAP financial statements.
• Prepare monthly financial reports and analysis for senior management.
• Proactively review the books for errors, inconsistencies, and inefficiencies; investigate root causes and implement fixes so issues don’t recur.
• Build, document, and improve accounting processes, controls, and procedures where gaps exist.
• Support the annual budgeting and forecasting process.
• Monitor cash flow and working capital.
• Support financial analysis and modeling for strategic initiatives.
• Assist with M&A diligence and integration activities as the company grows.
• Coordinate accounting matters with international subsidiaries.
• Support compliance with tax and regulatory requirements, working with outside advisors as needed.
• Supervise and develop accounting staff as the team grows. What We’re Looking For
• Sound judgment and practical common sense. You know when something matters and when it doesn’t, and you make reasonable decisions without needing every answer spelled out.
• Ownership mentality. You independently identify problems, whether a reconciliation that doesn’t tie, a broken process, or a number that doesn’t make sense, and you drive them to resolution.
• Comfort with ambiguity. You can bring structure to messy situations and build process where none exists.
• Clear communication. You flag issues early, explain them plainly, and come with a recommended fix. Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 6–10+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Advanced Excel and financial systems proficiency.
• QuickBooks experience preferred.
• Excellent analytical and organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
• Experience supervising or mentoring accounting staff preferred.
• Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
• Able to commute to our office in Bala Cynwyd, PA.
• CPA or public accounting experience preferred.
