Grants & Community Development Manager Iron County Care and Share

Cedar City, Utah Status: Full-Time, approximately 40 hours per week FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Reports To: Executive Director Position Summary Iron County Care and Share (ICCS) is seeking a Grants & Community Development Manager to strengthen and diversify the financial and community support that makes our mission possible. This position leads grant development, fundraising support, donor engagement, and community partnership efforts. The Manager researches funding opportunities, prepares competitive grant proposals, maintains ICCS's grant pipeline, assists with grant reporting and renewals, and helps develop relationships with donors, businesses, foundations, civic organizations, faith communities, and other community partners. The position works closely with the Executive Director, Finance/Grants staff, Marketing staff, and program leadership to identify organizational needs, develop funding opportunities, and communicate the impact of ICCS programs and services. Primary Responsibilities Grant Development
• Research government, foundation, corporate, and other funding opportunities aligned with ICCS programs and priorities.
• Maintain an organized pipeline and calendar of prospective grants, applications, reporting deadlines, and renewals.
• Prepare grant applications, letters of inquiry, proposals, and other funding requests.
• Coordinate with leadership and program staff to develop budgets, outcomes, service data, and supporting information.
• Maintain current organizational narratives, program descriptions, statistics, outcomes, and commonly requested grant documents.
• Assist with grant reports, renewals, funder communications, and other post-award activities.
• Evaluate potential funding opportunities and recommend those that best fit ICCS priorities and capacity.
• Maintain organized records of applications, awards, declines, pending requests, and prospective funding sources. Finance/Grants staff retain primary responsibility for grant financial management, reimbursement requests, accounting, and fiscal compliance. This position primarily focuses on developing, securing, and supporting funding opportunities. Fundraising & Donor Development
• Work with the Executive Director to develop and implement annual fundraising and development priorities.
• Identify prospective individual, corporate, foundation, and community supporters.
• Support donor cultivation, stewardship, retention, and acknowledgment.
• Coordinate fundraising appeals, sponsorships, giving campaigns, and other development initiatives.
• Help strengthen unrestricted and diversified sources of organizational revenue.
• Maintain accurate donor and development records. Community Relations & Partnerships
• Build and maintain relationships with businesses, civic organizations, faith communities, foundations, and community partners.
• Represent ICCS at community meetings, presentations, events, and outreach opportunities.
• Coordinate tours, presentations, and visits for donors, funders, and community groups.
• Identify opportunities for financial, in-kind, volunteer, and other community support.
• Assist the Executive Director in developing and maintaining strategic partnerships.
• Respond to organizations and individuals interested in supporting or partnering with ICCS. Communications & Impact
• Develop impact stories, presentations, donor communications, funding materials, newsletter and annual-report content, and similar materials.
• Translate service data and client outcomes into clear, compelling communications for funders and community supporters.
• Coordinate with ICCS staff responsible for social media by providing stories, updates, campaigns, funding priorities, and community-engagement content.
• Help ensure external communications accurately represent ICCS programs, outcomes, priorities, and community impact. This position supports social media content development but is not primarily responsible for managing ICCS social media accounts. Organizational Collaboration
• Participate in planning related to funding, sustainability, partnerships, and organizational development.
• Collaborate with Finance/Grants staff regarding budgets, allowable expenses, funding requirements, reporting, and compliance.
• Work with program managers to identify service needs, accomplishments, outcomes, and funding priorities.
• Assist the Executive Director with presentations, proposals, community outreach, and other development activities.

• Ability to learn grant portals, donor-management systems, and other development software.
• Understanding of nonprofit organizations and community-based services. Minimum Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Relevant professional experience in grant writing, nonprofit development, communications, fundraising, community relations, nonprofit administration, or a related field.
• Demonstrated professional writing ability.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work with limited supervision and manage multiple priorities.
• Valid Utah driver's license or ability to obtain one.
• Ability to pass required background checks. Preferred Qualifications
• Associate's or bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, communications, public administration, business, English, social sciences, or a related field.
• Experience researching and preparing grant applications.
• Experience with foundation, corporate, state, or federal funding opportunities.
• Nonprofit fundraising or donor-development experience.
• Experience developing community partnerships.
• Experience in human services, homelessness, housing, food insecurity, poverty, or related fields.
• Familiarity with government-funded nonprofit programs.
