Director/Managing Director, Corporate

Job Summary Responsible for leading, developing and executing complex new business development activities within syndicated and bilateral lending, capital markets, treasury management, and other corporate services. Has oversight for all relationship management, transaction execution, financial modeling, risk analysis, along with coordination with business partners in credit, capital markets, treasury management, corporate trust, wealth management and other product areas. Manages and leads a team consisting of various Vice Presidents, Associates, and/or Analysts. Job Duties and Responsibilities Working with the Head of Corporate - Investment Banking and other senior bank leaders, develops and leads the execution of effective strategies to originate and execute a wide variety of lending, public/private capital, and advisory mandates in the designated industry sector(s). Leads a team of Corporate - Investment Bankers on financial solutions, transaction execution, and consultative/advisory strategies and is responsible for the achievement of overall sales performance for team. Partners with the Credit Risk Management teams to ensure the appropriate level of risk assessments are being performed on all potential business activities, and that all risks identified are being mitigated in accordance with standard operating procedures. Employs established methods or techniques in the analysis of financial data. Uses industry knowledge and corporate finance skills to evaluate potential client solutions. Develops, implements, and monitors action plans to ensure the attainment of financial goals. Uses objective financial and business analysis to evaluate the returns and risks of business choices. Analyzes and integrates trends and patterns to determine the root causes of problems and identify solutions. Evaluates short and long-term implications of decisions. Accurately forecasts growth, costs, and business challenges. Optimizes execution and results. Uses the advantage of company size, internal and external resources, and talent to achieve success. Develops and communicates logical, convincing justifications, including lessons learned, that build commitment and support for perspectives and initiatives. Listens to, leverages, and promotes the diverse ideas, perspectives, and contributions of others on the team. Manages the annual performance management and merit processes for direct and indirect reports. Works closely with Human Resources regarding employee relations, compensation, training, posting and filling vacant positions and other Human Resources related matters. Each team member is expected to be aware of risk within their functional area. This includes observing all policies, procedures, laws, regulations and risk limits specific to their role. Additionally, they should raise and report known or suspected violations to the appropriate Company authority in a timely fashion. Performs other related duties as required. Minimum Experience: 10+ years of job-specific work experience in the Corporate & Investment Banking relationship management space Certifications: Securities licenses required Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Series 63 and Series 79 Securities, or equivalent, licenses required Demonstrated ability to manage deal teams Experience managing Corporate & Investment Banking relationship management teams Manages successful relationships with senior client executives, regulators, key stakeholders and internal partners Demonstrated experience calling on designated industry sector and managing portfolio of complex credit relationships and capital markets/advisory activities Extensive experience in the areas of loan structuring and approval, credit analysis, underwriting, and portfolio management Experience developing loan strategy and credit policies Advanced knowledge of federal and state banking regulations and securities regulations Preferred Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: MBA or related master's degree preferred CFA, CPA and/or related educational/professional attainments preferred #J-18808-Ljbffr
