Every role has an impact on our patients lives and you have the opportunity to make a difference. We are looking for a dedicated Lead Phlebotomist like you to be a part of our team. Job Summary and Qualifications As a Lead Phlebotomist you will support the Supervisor in the coordination of the day to day operation of the phlebotomy section. Responsibilities: Blood procurement from all age groups, registration and order entry. Assists in the laboratory with specimen processing of in house tests and referral specimens Oversee referral specimens sent out by other staff to ensure accuracy Review inventory in the laboratory POU room and orders supplies Monitor inventories and orders supplies required to process referral specimens Monitor the pending lists to ensure that all collections are drawn in a timely manner on all shifts Assist in training and orientation of new lab assistants in accordance with established policies and procedures. Requirements A completed high school diploma or GED? A vocational/technical diploma A phlebotomy certificate is beneficial 1-3 years of previous experience in clinical laboratory setting The ability to frequently stand, bend, reach, squat, kneel, move and lift patients and/or equipment up to 50 pounds Northside Hospital is a 280+ bed facility offering state-of-the-art treatment.
