In our collaborative, drama-free environment, you'll find transparency, work-life balance, and respect at the heart of everything we do.Core ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Team DevelopmentCollaborate with the Medical Director and Practice Manager to define clinical standards, shape training programs, and drive operational excellence across departments.Empower, coach, and elevate a talented medical team by modeling Fear Free handling and patient-first care.Support recruiting, onboarding, and continuous training of medical support staff.Develop and oversee technician workflows, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and adherence to protocols.Partner with the Practice Manager and Medical Director to identify skill gaps, create growth opportunities, and foster a positive culture.Lead daily huddles and coordinate interdepartmental communication to ensure smooth hospital flow.Medical & Technical ExcellencePerform and oversee all advanced technical procedures, including anesthesia administration, intubation, induction/monitoring, dental radiography, and surgical preparation and assistance.Perform and oversee laboratory diagnostics and analysis, including blood draws, urinalysis, x-rays, blood typing, blood smears, fecals, ear/skin cytology, Gram stains, fungal cultures and related laboratory analyses-to gather critical information aiding in patient diagnosis.Maintain oversight of anesthetic safety standards, patient monitoring protocols, and pain management plans.Ensure accurate, timely, and Fear Free-minded restraint and handling of patients for all procedures.Support the veterinarians in managing complex medical cases, maintaining continuity of care, and providing clear communication between doctor, technician, and client.Client Care & CommunicationEducate clients on treatment plans, preventive care, nutrition, and home care instructions with empathy and clarity.Ensure every client interaction upholds the Live with Grace promise: calm, compassionate, transparent communication.Support client service representatives with medical insight when appropriate, fostering teamwork across departments.Build and maintain strong client relationships through the Live with Grace core values, to ensure a supportive experience for all pets and their owners.Operational OversightEvaluate workflows, introduce tools or systems to enhance team utilization, and ensure the medical team functions at its highest level of capability and joy.Partner with the Practice Manager in maintaining accountability for inventory management, ordering, and controlled substance logs.Monitor and ensure proper equipment function, maintenance, and calibration.Participate in educating team members on hospital protocols and safety standards (OSHA, DEA, infection control, Fear Free).Maintain and audit accurate medical records and diagnostic documentation within ezyVet.Partner with leadership to review and refine the Doctor first workflow efficiency, quality metrics, and team utilization.Culture & Fear Free StandardsChampion a Fear Free and emotionally intelligent workplace culture.Promote staff well-being and patient emotional health through gentle handling, noise and scent control, and patient-specific stress-reduction strategies.Model compassion, gratitude, and respect in all interactions, with patients, clients, and teammates alike.QualificationsCredentialed Veterinary Technician (CVT/LVT/RVT) in good standing, or eligibility for licensure in Florida is preferred.5+ years of progressive clinical experience demonstrating excellence in anesthesia, surgery, dentistry, and advanced patient care.3+ years of leadership experience as a Head or Lead Technician, including oversight of a team of 5 or more technicians and assistants.Proven ability to mentor and develop team members, foster accountability, and uphold medical and Fear Free standards.Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on collaboration, emotional intelligence, and client education.Demonstrated commitment to patient comfort and low-stress handling, aligned with the Fear Free philosophy.Highly organized, dependable, and able to balance clinical, operational, and leadership priorities with calm professionalism.Passionate about building a positive, growth-oriented culture that reflects the Live with Grace mission and values.
