Apply TodayJob Summary and QualificationsUnder the general supervision of the Director of Laboratory Services, the Medical Laboratory Technician provides clinical laboratory services to patients in accordance with accepted practices and Departmental and Hospital standards of care.Maintains high degree of competency in the operation of all equipment in the performance of clinical laboratory testing to include troubleshooting and minor repair.Applies general knowledge of instrumentation in assigned areas of the Laboratory.Applies general knowledge of quality control in assigned areas of the Laboratory.Collects specimens as needed utilizing appropriate precautions to promote patient comfort and minimize potential for exposure.Processes routine test results to include analysis, calculations, and reporting of results.Refers problems or seeks consultation as needed with a Medical TechnologistWhat qualifications you will need:* Associate Degree in Medical Lab Technician or equivalent military training.* Previous experience in hospital clinical laboratory preferred.HCA Houston Healthcare West is a full-service, 300+ bed hospital that has been offering exceptional care to the West Houston communities for over 30 years.
