As our Senior Director Network Strategy, you'll drive the strategic evolution of our biologics manufacturing network, ensuring we're positioned to deliver breakthrough therapies to patients worldwide.This role sits within Global Supply Chain and Strategy, where you'll take strategic ownership of our biologics drug substance platform and shape the future of our global manufacturing footprint.What You'll DoStrategic LeadershipDevelop and execute comprehensive network strategies for the biologics drug substance platform across AstraZeneca's global operations Lead strategic evaluations of our supply chain footprint, including make-vs-buy decisions and contract manufacturing partnerships Drive capacity planning by analyzing portfolio demand and aligning supply options to meet current and future requirements Collaborate cross-functionally with Biologics Global Technical Operations, BPD, Global Engineering, and GSSDs to integrate emerging pipeline technologies into our network strategy Business Impact Evaluate and optimize asset utilization, identifying opportunities for network optimization and efficiency improvements Design the biologics drug substance network to support AstraZeneca's exciting pipeline of breakthrough therapies and emerging modalities Provide strategic input on capital allocation decisions with direct accountability for CapEx prioritization within your platform Assess financial implications of strategic options, analyzing impact on CapEx, OpEx, and inventory optimization Represent Global Operations in senior cross-functional decision-making forums Stakeholder Engagement Partner closely with Global Biologics Operations and Biopharmaceutical Development teams Influence product development processes to ensure effective supply chain design for new biologics Act as an external ambassador for AstraZeneca's Global Operations function Challenge and influence senior stakeholders across the organization when strategic alignment is needed What You'll BringEssential Experience10-15 years in biologics manufacturing, supply chain, or strategic operations rolesProven track record in leading cross-functional teams and driving strategic initiativesExpertise in biologics drug substance manufacturing processes and technologiesStrong background in supply chain design, capacity planning, and network optimizationExperience in pharmaceutical product development processes and regulatory environmentsCore CompetenciesStrategic thinking: Scenario planning, long-range strategy development, and complex problem-solvingFinancial acumen: Business case development, capital allocation, and P&L impact assessmentLeadership: Matrix team management, stakeholder influence, and change managementCommunication: Executive-level presentation skills and ability to articulate complex strategiesIndustry knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of pharmaceutical/biotech operations and global regulatory landscapeWhy This Role MattersYou'll directly impact AstraZeneca's ability to deliver life-changing medicines by ensuring our biologics manufacturing network is strategically positioned for current portfolio needs and future growth. Our positions offer eligibility for various incentives-an opportunity to receive short-term incentive bonuses, equity-based awards for salaried roles and commissions for sales roles.
