Job DescriptionAssistant Superintendent - Commercial ConstructionA leading Nashville area General Contractor is seeking a motivated Assistant Superintendent to join their growing team. This company is known for delivering high-quality commercial projects while maintaining a people-first culture built on trust, teamwork, and craftsmanship.About the RoleAs an Assistant Superintendent, you'll support daily on-site operations and work closely with the Superintendent, Project Manager, and field teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. You'll gain hands-on experience managing field coordination, scheduling, and subcontractor supervision while learning the full lifecycle of commercial construction management.This role offers a clear path to Superintendent for someone who's eager to grow, take initiative, and lead in a fast-paced construction environment.Key Responsibilities Assist the Superintendent in managing day-to-day field operations and jobsite coordination. Help oversee subcontractors, material deliveries, and equipment logistics. Support safety enforcement and participate in on-site safety meetings and inspections. Maintain project documentation including daily reports, photos, and logs. Track progress against schedule and report field updates to project leadership. Collaborate with the project team to ensure work is performed according to plans, specifications, and quality expectations. Assist in punch list and closeout activities to ensure timely and successful project delivery. Qualifications 2+ years of commercial construction experience (field or assistant role preferred). Strong understanding of construction plans, specifications, and jobsite safety practices. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Ability to take direction, anticipate needs, and maintain a proactive mindset. Proficiency in project management or construction software (Procore, PlanGrid, Bluebeam, etc.) is a plus. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field preferred, or equivalent field experience.
