About the Role:The Food Runner plays a vital role in ensuring a seamless dining experience by efficiently delivering food orders from the kitchen to guests in a timely and courteous manner. This position requires maintaining clear communication between kitchen staff and servers to guarantee accuracy and quality of each order. The Food Runner supports the overall flow of service, helping to uphold high standards of cleanliness and safety throughout the dining area. Working primarily during nights, weekends, and holidays, the Food Runner must be adaptable and reliable to meet the dynamic demands of the hospitality environment. Ultimately, this role contributes significantly to guest satisfaction by providing prompt and attentive service while adhering to all safety and operational procedures.Minimum Qualifications:Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required by the business schedule.Physical capability to lift and carry heavy weights safely and perform repetitive motions throughout the shift.Full range of mobility including reaching overhead and moving quickly within the dining and kitchen areas.Basic understanding of safety procedures relevant to food service and hospitality environments.Prior experience in a food service or hospitality role is preferred but not mandatory.Preferred Qualifications:Experience with room service operations in a hotel or similar setting.Familiarity with food safety standards and certifications such as ServSafe.Strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with guests and team members.Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment.Knowledge of POS systems or order tracking technology.Responsibilities:Deliver food orders promptly and accurately from the kitchen to guests' tables or room service areas.Assist servers and kitchen staff by communicating special requests, order modifications, and any issues that arise during service.Maintain cleanliness and organization of service areas, including clearing and resetting tables as needed.Follow all safety and hygiene protocols to ensure a safe working environment for staff and guests.Perform physical tasks such as lifting and carrying heavy trays or equipment, and continuously move throughout the shift to support service flow.Skills:The required skills such as working nights, weekends, and holidays ensure the Food Runner is available during peak service times, which is critical for maintaining smooth operations. Physical skills like lifting heavy weights, full mobility, reaching overhead, and performing repetitive motions are essential for handling food trays and navigating the dining area safely and efficiently. Safety procedures knowledge is applied daily to prevent accidents and maintain hygiene standards, protecting both staff and guests. Preferred skills like experience with room service and familiarity with food safety certifications enhance the Food Runner's ability to provide specialized service and uphold compliance with health regulations. Strong communication and multitasking skills enable the Food Runner to coordinate effectively with kitchen and service staff, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of orders.
