Job Title: Pharmacy TechnicianJob DescriptionUnder both direct and indirect supervision, the Patient Care Representative (PCR) plays a pivotal role in patient communication, focusing on therapy progress discussions, physician follow-up, medication profile updates, and obtaining inventory from patients to ensure proper refilling of orders. The role also includes assisting pharmacists in obtaining laboratory values for review.ResponsibilitiesMaintain team schedule for patient follow-up, refill assessments, and deliveries.Participate in team huddles each morning to prioritize and coordinate the processing, compounding, and delivery of supplies/orders.Communicate with patients to review inventory to properly refill existing orders, anticipating patient care or supply needs to ensure appropriate inventory is maintained.Report identified non-compliance, process orders, and print labels and packing lists in a timely manner.Ensure timely and appropriate documentation in progress notes.Communicate effectively with patients, caregivers, and clinicians involved in patient care.Discuss patient progress, document in progress notes, and forward all concerns and clinical questions to the team pharmacist.Communicate with the Warehouse Coordinator to ensure patient needs are met for adequate supplies and timely deliveries.Update patient medication profiles in EMR and present them to the team pharmacist for review.Follow up with physician offices as appropriate within the scope of practice.Notify the Reimbursement team of patient hospitalizations, prescription changes, and changes in patient status.Assist pharmacists in obtaining laboratory values and forward them to the ordering physician, entering lab values in EMR as appropriate.Provide delivery representatives with patient pick-up forms and assist with scheduling pick-ups of equipment and medical waste.Perform all other duties assigned by the respective Supervisor/Manager.Comprehend confidentiality regarding company proprietary information and patient/client care, complying with all federal and state laws concerning confidentiality of protected health information (PHI) and electronic protected health information (EPHI) following HIPAA guidelines.Essential SkillsCustomer service proficiency.Possession of a Pharmacy Technician license.At least 6 months of pharmacy technician or related experience.2+ years of computer data entry experience.VA license is required.Experience with prior authorization, retail pharmacy, fulfillment, and inventory management.Additional Skills & QualificationsStrong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.Strong interpersonal abilities.Excellent organizational and process management skills.Ability to work under pressure, meet timelines, and complete assigned projects.Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.Proven performance history in a related field.Exceptional attention to detail and demonstrated results.Exceptional track record of customer satisfaction.Working knowledge of Home Infusion, Specialty Infusion, and Durable Medical Equipment (DME).Work EnvironmentThe position operates within a Closed Door Pharmacy environment, focusing on at-home infusion. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5 PM, with rotation for on-call weekends, primarily Saturdays. You will work collaboratively with a team of 15 people, in an environment that offers room for growth and advancement.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chantilly, VA.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
