IV Pharmacy Technician We are seeking a dedicated IV Pharmacy Technician to join our team in a closed-door pharmacy setting. This role is crucial in ensuring the safe and effective preparation of pharmaceutical products while adhering to federal and state regulations. Responsibilities: Mix IV and other pharmaceutical preparations using proper sterile compounding techniques. Adhere to all documented instructions, warnings, procedures, and best practices to ensure safe and effective drug preparation. Perform environmental monitoring, sanitation, testing, and other activities as required by applicable federal and state pharmacy regulations and USP-797. Maintain accurate drug inventory through purchasing, receiving, stocking, pulling, counting, and tracking drug items in accordance with established policies and procedures. Enter home medication lists and lab results into CPR+ for the patient's profile when available. Clean ante-room and clean room according to USP-797 standards and maintain clean room logs. Verify lot numbers and perform periodic checks in inventory. Assist with On-Call responsibilities as needed. Complete a competency verification plan upon hire and annually thereafter. Understand confidentiality regarding company proprietary information and patient/client care; comply with federal and state laws on confidentiality of PHI and EPHI; follow HIPAA guidelines regarding protected health information. Essential Skills: CPhT certification Compounding experience Pharmacy technician certification VA License IV Compounding Sterile Compounding Customer service Data entry Additional Skills & Qualifications: State registered as a pharmacy technician. Pharmacy Technician certification preferred. Experience as a pharmacy technician preferred. Home infusion therapy experience preferred but not required. Must be well-organized and able to set priorities. Ability to work independently and as an effective team member. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Efficiency in a fast-paced work environment. Computer skills required. Work Environment: This position operates in a closed-door pharmacy, primarily focusing on at-home infusion. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5 PM, with rotating on-call weekends mainly on Saturdays. You will work within a collaborative team of 15 people, in an environment that offers room for growth and advancement. This role does not involve direct patient interaction. Job Type & Location: This is a contract to hire position based out of Chantilly, VA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $26.00/hr.
