POSITION RESPONSIBILITIESThe Assistant Dean for Pre-Clerkship Curriculum (ADPCC) at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine is an academic official within the Office of Medical Education who reports to the Associate Dean for Curricular Affairs and works closely with the Assistant Dean for Clinical Sciences Education and other medical education deans.This individual supervises the course directors in the pre-clerkship curriculum with oversight from the Associate Dean for Curricular Affairs. The ADPCC is responsible for horizontal and vertical integration of the pre-clerkship curricular content, the effective day-to-day delivery of the curriculum, learner assessment, selecting and designing teaching and learning methodologies, and curricular innovations designed to meet learner and institutional needs.General Duties:• Collaborate and support faculty and other Deans in ongoing curriculum development in the pre-clerkship phase in alignment with institutional mission.• Collaborate and support faculty and staff to ensure operational efficiency for the pre-clerkship curriculum.• Work with faculty to ensure pre-clerkship active learning sessions are of high educational quality and promote comparability of small group experiences for students.• Manage the quality and oversight for assessments in the pre-clerkship curriculum and ensure that they are developmentally appropriate.• Assist in the recruitment of basic science and clinical faculty members to participate in the pre-clerkship phase.• Oversee programs that optimize the quality of individual and programmatic teaching performance in pre-clerkship courses in collaboration with other Deans and offices of Instructional Design and Faculty Development.• Working within the LCME CQI process, oversee and implement continuous quality improvement initiatives in the pre-clerkship phase of the curriculum.• Maintain ongoing communication with students including running regular Block Quality Circles as well as Office Hours.• Collaborate with the Assistant Dean for Clinical Science/Assistant Dean for Clinical Curriculum to coordinate content and support Course Directors of longitudinal courses that extend across the phases of the curriculum.• Chair the Course Director Subcommittee and participate as a member in other curricular committees.• Assist in accreditation efforts and the preparation for accreditation site visits.• Other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONSPossess a PhD, MD/PhD, MD, or DO.• Have a minimum of 3-5 years' experience in medical education (UME, GME, and/or CME).• Educational portfolio that includes experience in teaching, mentoring/advising, curricular or program development and oversight, and/or educational scholarly activities.• The ideal candidate will communicate effectively, problem solve, think critically, demonstrate flexibility, possess negotiation skills and work collaboratively in complex interdisciplinary settings.• Academic rank at Einstein is to be determined by academic qualifications.Minimum Salary RangeUSD $200,000.00/Yr.Maximum Salary RangeUSD $215,000.00/Yr.
