Title of Position: Lead Church PlanterChurch Plant Location: PhiladelphiaJob Description:The Alliance is a Christ-centered, Acts 1:8 family that is passionate about bringing all of Jesus to all of the world. The Eastern PA District of the Alliance uniquely fulfills this mission by developing Kingdom workers for increasing Gospel impact. As a district, we are looking for a multiplying leader who is ready to bring the Gospel of Jesus to new communities through church planting in Philadelphia and help our district establish a regional network in the city.As a Church Planter, you will be the spiritual, visional, and multiplication leader of a church planting team based in the city of Philadelphia. You will be responsible to seek the Lord's direction in implementing a vision and strategy for creating a disciple-making community in the city. Through the creation of a church planting team, you will foster a community that is rooted in the Gospel, lives on faith-filled mission with Jesus, and exercises courageous leadership.Each church planter is expected to be a Gospel-rooted, courageous, missional, and catalytic leader that meets the biblical qualifications of an elder. You are expected to lead the church planting team to be highly focused on disciple making, collaborative, and have a high level of excellence. You are expected to be developmental and creative in your approach to establishing a culture that leads to an effective multiplying work.Responsibilities: Conceptualize, develop, and lead the execution of a church planting strategy that sees a multiplying disciple making community born in the city Oversee the curations of values, habits, and stories that create a culture of living with Jesus, being changed by Jesus, and commitment to the mission of Jesus Effectively recruit, lead, develop, coach, and oversee the church planting team and leadership toward being a Gospel-rooted, courageous, and faith-filled people Live missionally in the neighborhood where the church is to be rooted Clearly and passionately communicate the Gospel in a variety of environments Care for the spiritual maturity and development of the churchBasic Requirements: Clear articulation of personal faith in Jesus, demonstrated character qualities of biblical elder, and an affinity for the philosophy of ministry of the District (i.e. Gospel development in regional networks) Licensed, or willing to be licensed, as an official worker of the Alliance Complete our district's discernment/assessment process before beginning role Demonstrated experience of multiplication in the local churchPreferred Skills and Experience: Experience with starting ministries in new contexts, communities, and cultures Highly strategic, organized, and entrepreneurial with exceptional communication skills Creativity and a willingness to try new approaches Established skills in crisis management, decision-making, and relationship-buildingTeam Dynamics: Direct reports to Executive Director of the district as a part of Philadelphia Church Planting InitiativeCompensation: TBD based on Church Plant Development PlanTo be considered for this position, please complete the application to include your testimony, resume and other background information related to the position.If the district office has reviewed your application and they think you may be a potential match for the position, the hiring manager will reach out to you for next steps.This position requires licensing with The Christian & Missionary Alliance.
