This problem entailed moving freight across the Americas for our customers... overnightJob Summary:The Flight Follower's primary responsibility is to the safety of flight. Flight Followers are delegated authority by the Director of Operations to exercise operational control jointly with the pilot in command IAW 14 CFR Part 121 Supplemental rules. Flight Followers prepare and distribute domestic and international flight releases, runway analysis, and weather data in accordance with existing policies and procedures.Functions/ResponsibilitiesMonitor the status of planned and in progress flights from the point of origin to the final destinationRelease flights in accordance with all Kalitta Charters II applicable policies, procedures, and regulatory requirementsCollect and disseminate weather and aeronautical information to the PIC by preparing flight plansEnsure all ground handling, deicing, fuel, landing/departure slots, and landing/overfly permits are in order before releasing a flightIdentify, anticipate, and take corrective action to minimize actual/potential delays due to weather, scheduling, operations, crew legality, and maintenance issuesAdvise appropriate personnel of potential/actual delays and conditions affecting the safety of the flightCoordinate with Maintenance Control to ensure that MEL/CDL limitations or restrictions are evaluated and complied withDetermine airport suitability/risk assessmentRequirementsQualificationsFAA Aircraft Dispatcher Certificate1+ year(s) experience as a Part 121/135 Flight Follower/DispatcherExcellent attention to detailExcellent verbal and written skillsExcellent problem solving skillsExcellent time management skillsWorking knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations and company manual systemsMust be at least 18 years of ageMust be legally authorized to work in the United StatesMust be able to read, write, and understand EnglishValid unrestricted driver's licenseShift RequirementsAbility to work nights, weekends, holidaysAbility to work 8, 10, 12 hour shiftsWork schedules will vary as Kalitta Charters II operates 7 days a week, 365 days a yearQuarterly Schedule BidLocation RequirementsPosition based in Ypsilanti, MI at Willow Run Airport (YIP)There is no ability to work remotelyThere will be no relocation package for this positionA hotel may be provided for up to 2 weeks during relocationOther RequirementsCandidate must pass DOT/FAA pre-employment drug screen and a DOT/FAA compliant background checkHigh School Diploma or GEDIntermediate Computer & MS Office skillsCompensationBase annual salary: $50,000Established pay scale including yearly performance based increasesBenefitsEmployer Provided: Short Term Disability Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Basic Life Insurance Accidental Death & Dismemberment Insurance Travel Assistance Program Fidelity 401K with match Employee Elective: BCBS - Medical 500 PPO and 1000 PPO options Dental PPO Prescription EyeMed - Vision Flexible Spending Account - Medical and Dependent Care Long Term Disability Life Insurance for Employee, Spouse, and Child Accident and Critical Illness Insurance for Employee, Spouse, and Child Hospital Indemnity for Employee, Spouse, and Child Met Law Coverage Nationwide Voluntary Pet Insurance
