We seek an individual who can bring the vision of the resorts to life. The right Construction Technician I checklist will include equal parts curious learner, innovator, administrator, detail driver, mentor, and motivator.This role exists to perform tasks that require physical labor on construction sites and to assist construction craft workers, such as electricians and carpenters, with a variety of basic tasks.Additionally, the ideal candidate will be able to display and live out Lead with Love qualities, strongly rooted in the Dollywood Company culture, by being patient, kind, trusting, unselfish, truthful, forgiving, dedicated and accountable.Summary of Essential Functions and Responsibilities Construct, modify, and repair structural systems comprised of, but no limited to, framing, sheathing, roofing, exterior siding, and basic mensuration skills as they pertain to carpentry work Load, unload, or identify building materials, machinery, or tools, distributing them to the appropriate locations, according to project plans or specifications Load or unload building materials to be used in construction Operate or tend equipment and machines used in construction Follow construction plans and instructions from supervisors or more experienced workers Identify and use basic construction materials Clean and prepare project sites by removing debris and possible hazards Complete duties in compliance with local and state laws and OSHA regulations Able to work overtime as needed per management as well as off hours work including Late nights, overnight & Early morning hours Management reserves the right to change and/or add to these duties at any timeEducation and Experience Required High school diploma or equivalent Must be at least 18 years old Experience that demonstrates successful execution of similar duties and responsibilities in a commercial/industrial environment At least 6 months of experience in the construction trade required Must have a motor vehicle license and state required auto insurance Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Able to make a friendly impression when speaking to or corresponding with guests, vendors, and other employees Must reflect Dollywood's image by being genuinely friendly and caring and by taking pride in work Must be self-motivated and disciplined Must be able to prioritize and complete work assignments on a timely basis Must maintain strict confidentiality and judgment regarding privileged information Must be committed to continuous improvement Must have professional appearance with good personal hygiene Must promote and support a "team" work environment by cooperating and helping co-workers Must be productive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment Must maintain dependable work attendance and flexibility with assigned work schedules including any required overtime, evenings, weekends and holidays Must be sensitive to the needs of our Guests and feel empowered to act to meet their needs within company guidelines Must be able to utilize effective communication, problem solving, conflict management and interpersonal skills Must show appreciation of others Able to get along with other employees to work out problems and resolve conflicts Able to comprehend instructions and retain information Able to perform duties consistent with creating a safe and secure environment for hosts and guests Able to be flexible to handle frequent changes in priorities Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide with accuracy Able to communicate effectively using standard English grammar and punctuation Able to tolerate various temperatures while working indoors and outdoors Able to operate/drive a company vehicle with valid driver's license and insurance Able to meet the physical demands of the job Able to work outdoors Able to balance, stoop, kneel, crawl, and crouch Able to lift, carry, push and/or pull objects and materials of moderately heavy weight (up to 50 lbs) and occasionally heavier weight (up to 100 pounds) Able to work at heights up to and in excess of 150ft Able to work in confined spaces Able to operate/drive a motor vehicle Able to tolerate approved exposure levels to various chemicals found in cleaning solvents, adhesives, paints, and lubricants Able to use hand tools, power tools and equipment such as air compressor, skill saw, electric drill, impact wrench, hand wrenches, shovel, etc The Dollywood Company is an equal opportunity employer.
