We serve patients Orange, Seminole, Osceola, Polk, Volusia, Flagler and Lake Counties with a dedicated Team of therapists, clinicians and staff willing to carry on AdventHealths mission in the communities we serve.As a Occupational Therapy Assistant in an outpatient setting you will provide professional direct and indirect services to specific age groups in the outpatient rehabilitation settings. Utilizes process improvement in achieving the goals of the Sports Med and Rehab Department. Accept the responsibility to practice autonomously and collaboratively in all practice environments to provide best practice to the patient/client. Autonomous practice is characterized by independent, self-determined, professional judgment and action.The role you'll contribute:Responsible for providing direct and indirect occupational therapy services under the supervision of a physical therapist in a professional manner and within hospital standards. This position delivers therapy aimed at improving patients' functional abilities and quality of life and adheres to the corporate compliance plan and all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state, and federal agencies, and accrediting bodies.The value you'll bring to the team:Implements treatment plans established by the Occupational Therapist; and through consideration of practice standards, recommended techniques, insurance guidelines, and patient needs.Uses appropriate therapy procedures, documents data, and follows individualized care plans set by the occupational therapist.Provides patient and family education, including home exercise programs for treatment carryover into the discharge setting.Supports consumer marketing and public awareness through participation in community events, educational lectures, and other extensions of clinical expertise to the community.QualificationsThe expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed :Associate [Required]Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) [Required]Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]Preference Qualification * Experience with treating Pediatric patients in Outpatient clinicsThis facility is an equal opportunity employer and complies with federal, state and local anti-discrimination laws, regulations and ordinances.
