And we invest in our world-class team, empowering our colleagues to unpack their potential, because we believe when our people grow, so does our business.To learn more about playing for Team Amcor, visit www.amcor.com | LinkedIn | YouTubeResponsibilitiesSUMMARY:The Production Supervisor will be responsible for leading and motivating the production team to exceed commitments and goals, monitoring the day-to-day production activities to ensure that production efficiency goals are being met (EFF & MEEF), safety protocols are being followed, and quality product is being produced timely and meeting customer expectations. Directly supervises 8-9 hourly employees performing tasks in all areas and phases of the plant. Plans and controls production performance as measured against operating targets developed according to machine capabilities, manpower capabilities and projected business. Ensures compliance to established customer quality and production standards. Actively leads and participates in plant safety, housekeeping, 5S and lean manufacturing programs and cost savings initiatives by ensuring goals are met within the plant. Ensures completion of all required paperwork, schedules, work orders, etc.RESPONSIBILITIES Planning, organizing, executing and leading all assigned areas within the plant Accountable to plan and execute to meet required safety, quality, delivery, production, cost and communication objectives Meet production schedules within budgeted allocation Ensure appropriate on-the-job training and development of crew members is satisfied Address mechanical, operational, and technical downtime issues within department Train, motivate and mentor employees Conduct training of new and existing employees Supervise employees in the day-to-day operations to ensure safety, quality and productivity Maintain and improve production throughput and work with Production/Plant Manager to maintain direct labor cost Provide support for on the job assignments and continuous improvement initiatives Ensure Company policies, safety, quality procedures, and Good Manufacturing Policies (GMPs) are implemented, understood and followed Maintain a positive working environment among employees Maintain all required logs and reporting documentation and adhere to all safety procedures Adhere to all Company safety regulations and policies Other duties as assigned QualificationsA four-year degree is preferred, or equivalent and applicable work-related experience Experience in Blown Film Industry preferred but any extrusion or printing background is advantageous Previous experience with Lean, SixSigma or other relevant continuous improvement methods and tools a plus Previous experience with Troubleshooting processes, 5 Why, 8D or other is a plus. Technical training a plus; mechanical and/or electrical Industrial Safety Training a plus A minimum of 3+ years of experience in a supervisory role with a strong background in blown film or other extrusion or printing operations and production floor supervision Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing facility is preferred Ability to handle multiple tasks and work in a changing environment with strong problem solving skills Ability to work as part of a team and to work on own initiative Results driven, effective decision maker Strong desire to train, coach and develop others to improve performance Ability to work any shift as needed Maintenance and mechanical ability to troubleshoot Must be able to use the following computer programs: Excel, Word, PowerPoint Excellent verbal and written skills with the ability to communicate accurately and professionally with all levels of the organization Leadership skills Interpersonal skills Additional InfoContactAbout AmcorAmcor is a global leader in packaging solutions for consumer and healthcare products.
