Summary
The Production Supervisor will be responsible for leading and motivating the production team to exceed commitments and goals, monitoring the day-to-day production activities to ensure that production efficiency goals are being met (EFF and MEEF), safety protocols are being followed, and quality product is being produced timely and meeting customer expectations. Directly supervises hourly employees performing tasks in all areas and phases of the plant. Plans and controls production performance as measured against operating targets developed according to machine capabilities, manpower capabilities and projected business. Ensures compliance to established customer quality and production standards. Actively leads and participates in plant safety, housekeeping, 5S and lean manufacturing programs and cost savings initiatives by ensuring goals are met within the plant. Ensures completion of all required paperwork, schedules, work orders, etc.

Minimum/Preferred Requirements

  • A four-year degree is preferred, or equivalent and applicable work-related experience
  • Experience in Blown Film Industry preferred but any extrusion or printing background is advantageous
  • Previous experience with Lean, SixSigma or other relevant continuous improvement methods and tools a plus
  • Previous experience with Troubleshooting processes, 5 Why, 8D or other is a plus.
  • Technical training a plus; mechanical and/or electrical
  • Industrial Safety Training a plus
  • A minimum of 3+ years of experience in a supervisory role with a strong background in blown film or other extrusion or printing operations and production floor supervision
  • Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing facility is preferred
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and work in a changing environment with strong problem solving skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and to work on own initiative
  • Results driven, effective decision maker
  • Strong desire to train, coach and develop others to improve performance
  • Maintenance and mechanical ability to troubleshoot
  • Must be able to use the following computer programs: Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Excellent verbal and written skills with the ability to communicate accurately and professionally with all levels of the organization
