QUALIFICATIONS:1. Possess Associate's Degree or ParaPro Exam Certification. Have demonstrated aptitude for the work to be performed. Be highly qualified according to state guidelines. Be willing to participate in training as deemed necessary (such as training in Autism Spectrum Disorders, etc.). Possess such alternatives to the above qualifications as the School Board may find appropriate and acceptable. REPORTS TO: Supervising Teacher, Assistant Principal, and PrincipalJOB DESCRIPTION: The Instructional Aide/Paraprofessional will work under the direction of the teacher in a collaborative setting to provide a well-organized, smooth functioning class environment in which students can take full advantage of the instructional program and available resource materials.PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBLITLIES:A. Under the supervision of the teacher: Assists with classroom instructional activities. Does accurate record keeping or other paper work. Prepares for classroom activities. Performs clerical duties (word processing, duplicating, etc.) Communicates student progress to teacher. Cares for equipment and helps to keep the room organized, neat, and orderly. Participates in in-service and professional development opportunities as assigned. Assists students in learning proper social habits. Works with small groups when appropriate. Assists with other duties as assigned. B. Under administrative supervision: Performs other duties as assigned by the principal.
