The Retail Store Assistant Manager is a vital member of the store leadership team, working closely with the Store Manager to create a positive atmosphere that aligns with our Mission, Vision, and Values. This role focuses on maintaining outstanding customer service, fostering team development, ensuring merchandising excellence, and achieving sales targets. Collaborating with the Store Manager and District Manager is crucial to driving continuous improvement in processes and productivity. At our company, we prioritize community and collaboration. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Lead and inspire team members to create a service-oriented culture that nurtures long-lasting customer relationships. Set and review individual and team goals, providing timely coaching and recognition for outstanding performance. Be an active presence on the sales floor during peak times. Foster a continuous learning environment and assist with training initiatives to enhance team performance in both operations and merchandising. Work alongside the Store Manager to adapt to evolving business needs, manage the store schedule effectively, and ensure operational directives are implemented across the team. Identify and communicate local customer needs to the Store Manager. Plan and execute engaging events with the Store Manager to attract the local community. Encourage customer engagement through loyalty programs, ensuring team accountability for achieving goals. Maintain optimal stock levels and adhere to company visual presentation standards to meet customer expectations. Be responsible for adherence to markdown protocols and timely processing of product deliveries. Collaborate with the Store Manager on strategies to minimize inventory shrinkage. Enhance product knowledge in all categories (western boots, work boots, denim, hats, etc.) and support team training in these areas. Complete all opening and closing procedures following company standards. Uphold compliance with local, state, and federal regulations as well as company policies. Possess strong business acumen, understanding all aspects of store operations. Exhibit professionalism in communication and teamwork with customers, team members, and partners. Perform additional duties as assigned by the District Manager or Store Support Center. QUALIFICATIONS Associate's Degree or 2 to 4 years of retail management experience. Experience in managing teams and driving sales performance. Strong organizational skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities. Excellent communication and customer service abilities. Availability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Willingness to travel up to 15% for store support.
