Director of Developmental Disabilities Programs

Benefits: • 401(k) • Competitive salary Position Summary As the Director of Developmental Disabilities Programs, you will lead and manage agency programs funded by the Maryland Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA). Your role will ensure compliance with all relevant regulations while promoting high-quality, person-centered services. You will provide strategic direction to fulfill our mission of empowering individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to lead fulfilling lives. Key Responsibilities Program Leadership & Oversight: Lead and oversee a variety of DDA-funded programs, including Residential, Day, Supported Employment, Community Development Services, and Personal Supports. Ensure all services are aligned with DDA's mission and values, while monitoring program operations for efficiency and regulatory compliance. Compliance & Quality Assurance: Maintain adherence to COMAR, DDA policies, and all applicable regulations. Oversee audits and inspections, and implement quality assurance systems for continuous service improvement. Staff Supervision & Development: Recruit, train, and support program managers and direct support staff. Mentor employees to foster a culture of accountability and teamwork, and conduct performance evaluations. Individual & Family Engagement: Ensure the active participation of individuals and families in service planning. Advocate for self-determination and address any concerns swiftly and professionally. Financial & Administrative Management: Assist in budgeting and financial monitoring, ensuring timely documentation and data reporting in collaboration with finance teams. Community Relations & Partnerships: Represent the agency to DDA, community partners, and advocacy groups. Build external relationships to enhance opportunities and resources for individuals, promoting the agency's mission throughout the community. Qualifications Minimum of 1 year of progressive leadership experience in developmental disabilities services, human services, or related fields. Strong knowledge of Maryland DDA policies, COMAR regulations, and person-centered practices. Exceptional leadership and organizational abilities with strong problem-solving skills. Excellent communication abilities for effective collaboration across diverse stakeholders. Willingness to travel as needed within Maryland.
