Job Title: Environmental Health and Safety SpecialistJob DescriptionJoin a dynamic and fast-growing company as an Environmental Health and Safety Specialist, where you will play a crucial role in ensuring workplace safety and compliance with regulatory requirements in a cutting-edge environment.ResponsibilitiesTake ownership of assigned EHS program elements such as HazCom, Waste Management, Emergency Preparedness, Contractor Safety, Chemical Management, IIPP, Lock Out Tag Out, Confined Space, and PPE programs.Conduct routine workplace inspections, hazard assessments, incident investigations, and trend analysis; recommend corrective/preventive actions and drive closure.Support execution and reporting of Corporate EHS Annual Plan, site EHS KPIs, and site EHS improvement plans.Develop, deliver, and maintain EHS training content to support regulatory requirements and employee competency.Maintain and manage records/documentation required by OSHA, DOT, NJDEP, and Corporate requirements, including waste manifests, audits, permits, reporting, and training.Provide EHS guidance and support for non-routine work, projects, shutdown work, and contractor activities.Perform workplace injury/illness case management support and interface with providers/insurers as needed.Proactively partner with Operations, Facilities, Engineering, QC, SCM, MSAT, and QA to embed safety into daily work and continuous improvement systems.Champion prevention culture, employee engagement, accountability, and operational excellence in EHS.Essential SkillsBachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Public Health, Industrial Hygiene, or related field required.Minimum 4+ years of EHS experience in manufacturing, biotech, pharma, CDMO, or equivalent regulated environment required.Strong working knowledge of OSHA 1910, EPA, DOT, NJDEP, and ability to interpret/apply requirements in GMP biotech manufacturing.Ability to lead structured problem solving, causal factor analysis, risk assessments, and JHA development.Strong communication skills with the ability to influence without authority across all levels.Proficient with Microsoft Office; PowerPoint/Adobe/SharePoint experience preferred.Able to manage multiple priorities independently in a dynamic fast-paced environment.Emergency response experience; First Aid/CPR certified.Additional Skills & QualificationsCertification or progress toward professional certification (ASP/CSP/CHMM/etc.) preferred.Experience with Worker's Compensation case management within New Jersey preferred.Experience supporting GMP manufacturing environment strongly preferred.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Allendale, NJ.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $50.50 - $58.85/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
