Are you a talented Staff Accountant looking for an opportunity to contribute your expertise to a dynamic and fast-paced organization? Modern is expanding its finance team and seeking a detail-oriented individual who can manage financial operations effectively. The Staff Accountant role is a crucial position that will contribute to our continued success in the industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and maintain financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Account Reconciliation: Reconcile accounts, including bank statements, credit card statements, and vendor accounts. Resolve discrepancies and maintain accurate records.
  • Budget Management: Assist in budget preparation and monitoring. Provide analysis and recommendations to improve financial performance.
  • Accounts Payable and Receivable: Manage accounts payable processes, including vendor invoice processing and payments. Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding invoices.
  • Payroll Processing: Oversee payroll processes, ensuring accurate and timely payments to employees. Address any payroll-related inquiries and issues.
  • Financial Analysis: Perform financial analysis and provide insights to support decision-making. Identify cost-saving opportunities and areas for financial improvement.
  • Tax Compliance: Assist in tax preparation and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations.
  • Audit Support: Collaborate with auditors and provide necessary documentation during financial audits. Ensure all audit requirements are met.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve financial processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA certification is a plus.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or financial management.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
  • Knowledge of tax regulations and GAAP.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong commitment to maintaining confidentiality and data security.
  • Willingness to adapt and learn in a dynamic and evolving industry.
