Position Summary
The Senior Accountant will play a key role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the company's financial records. This position is responsible for month-end close, accruals, reconciliations, procurement, fixed assets, payroll admin, equity admin, audit support, and IPO readiness. This position requires strong technical accounting skills, attention to detail, experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite and effective collaboration with teams such as Clinical Operations and Legal.
Responsibilities
- Perform month-end and quarter-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
- Prepare supporting schedules for financial statements and audits in accordance with US GAAP.
- Manage accounts payable and Procure-to-Pay (P2P) processes, ensuring timely invoice processing and compliance.
- Oversee procurement accounting, including PO management and resolving discrepancies.
- Maintain and reconcile fixed asset records.
- Support payroll and equity processing, including reports, journal entries, and payroll and equity reconciliations.
- Support R&D expense accruals and project cost tracking.
- Assist with NetSuite ERP workflows and internal controls.
- Prepare variance analysis and provide insights for management reporting.
- Provide audit support by fulfilling PBC requests, organizing supporting documentation, and responding promptly to auditor inquiries.
- Drive process improvements to streamline accounting operations.
- Support IPO readiness through SEC-compliant reporting, SOX controls, audit coordination, equity schedules, and public company reporting processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA or CPA candidate preferred.
- 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in biotech or life sciences.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and accrual-based accounting.
- Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred) and advanced Excel skills.
- Proficiency with payroll systems.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and communication abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Bilingual in Chinese and English preferred.
- IPO readiness or public company reporting experience is a plus.
Salary: $95,000 - $110,000
