Position Summary

The Senior Accountant supports a portfolio of healthcare practices and ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs) as part of a growing healthcare solutions company. This position is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with healthcare industry standards, and providing analytical insights to management and client leadership.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple healthcare entities simultaneously. While not physically based at the practices or ASCs, the Senior Accountant will maintain close working relationships with practice managers, billing teams, and clinical leadership through regular communication and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full accounting cycle for assigned healthcare clients, including general ledger entries, reconciliations, and month-end close.
  • Prepare and review financial statements for multiple medical practices and ASCs, ensuring compliance with GAAP and healthcare-specific reporting requirements.
  • Monitor and analyze revenue recognition, patient billing data, and reimbursement trends in coordination with billing and revenue cycle teams.
  • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash flow management for client entities.
  • Review physician compensation, shared expenses, and intercompany transactions for accuracy and compliance.
  • Coordinate with internal and client teams to gather and validate financial data from practice management systems, EMRs, and billing platforms.
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes, providing insights and variance analysis to client leadership.
  • Prepare audit schedules and support external audits and compliance reviews.
  • Identify and recommend process improvements, automation opportunities, and financial best practices for clients.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and data security in compliance with HIPAA and related regulations.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CPA eligibility preferred).
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 2+ years in healthcare accounting (ASC, physician practice, or healthcare management preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and familiarity with healthcare billing, reimbursement, and financial operations.
  • Experience with accounting and ERP software such as Sage Intacct, QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar platforms.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with clients remotely.
  • Ability to manage multiple entities and deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • High ethical standards and commitment to confidentiality and data integrity.

Pay: From $82,000.00 per year
