As a Associate in the Personal Injury practice, you play a leading role in handling a full docket of plaintiff-side personal injury matters from intake through resolution. You provide strategic direction on case management, ensure compliance with legal procedures, and deliver high-quality legal representation that meets the firm's standards. Your role involves mentoring junior attorneys, collaborating with paralegals and legal assistants, and representing clients in court and negotiations.

Legal Strategy and Case Management
- Assist in managing all stages of personal injury matters, including client intake, investigation, discovery, settlement preparation, and trial support.
- Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, and help develop litigation strategies under attorney supervision.
Client Representation and Communication
- Support client communications by helping explain case status and next steps with professionalism and empathy.
- Attend depositions, mediations, and court conferences with supervising attorneys to gain hands-on litigation experience.
Teamwork and Mentorship
- Work closely with senior attorneys and managers to ensure timely progress on assigned tasks and cases.
- Learn from and support paralegals and legal assistants in case preparation, fostering a collaborative team environment.
Collaboration and Cross-Functional Coordination
- Collaborate with partners, associates, experts, and other team members to advance client objectives efficiently.
- Coordinate with case managers and client liaisons to ensure accurate documentation and consistent communication.
Compliance and Documentation
- Draft and proofread legal documents, motions, and correspondence in accordance with firm standards.
- Maintain organized case files and adhere to firm policies, confidentiality standards, and ethical obligations.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE:

Required:
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Admission to the New York State Bar and in good standing
- Minimum 3 years of experience with plaintiff-side personal injury litigation
- Strong trial preparation and courtroom experience
- Excellent legal writing, analytical, and negotiation skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Preferred:
- Experience collaborating with a team of attorneys and/or paralegals
- Book of business or active client relationships (not required but valued)
- Familiarity with legal tech tools such as case management systems (e.g., SmartAdvocate, Clio)
- Prior experience at a mid-size or boutique law firm focused in litigation
