SENIOR TAX ACCOUNTANT

Position: Senior Tax Accountant

Location: Remote

Employment Type: Full-time (40 hours/week; moderate additional hours during tax season)

Reports To: Tax Director

We're building a national senior team that will help shape the firm, mentor staff, improve processes, and support Taxstra's aggressive growth targets.

What You'll Do

  • Prepare and review complex individual, partnership, and S-Corporation returns
  • Conduct tax-planning meetings with clients and deliver clear client recommendations on tax savings for their specific situation
  • Review workpapers and provide coaching/technical guidance to junior staff
  • Communicate complex issues clearly to clients
  • Lead or assist with advisory projects (S-Corp planning, rentals, entity structure, high-income strategies, etc.)
  • Identify process improvements and participate in firm-wide modernization initiatives
  • Use AI and modern tools (ChatGPT, tax automation, document summarization tools) to enhance accuracy and productivity

What We're Looking For

  • Active CPA license required
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant tax experience (public accounting preferred)
  • Strong technical tax knowledge and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage multiple clients independently
  • Strong communication, client service, and mentoring mindset
  • Tech-forward and comfortable integrating AI into tax workflows

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $100,000–$120,000, based on experience
  • Bonuses: Annual performance-based bonus opportunity
