As the
Lead Engineer
, you'll oversee daily building operations, maintenance, and performance of critical systems for a marquee property that defines the Charlotte skyline. You'll lead a small team, manage vendors, and ensure top-tier performance across all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems — all while maintaining the highest standards of Class A excellence.
There will be a Chief to support you.

What You'll Do

  • Lead day-to-day operations, maintenance, and engineering functions for a
    Class A high-rise mixed-use property
  • Oversee building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire/life safety
  • Manage and mentor a team of engineers and maintenance staff to ensure peak operational performance
  • Develop and execute preventive maintenance programs and energy efficiency initiatives
  • Collaborate closely with property management and ownership to maintain Class A standards
  • Manage vendor contracts, inspections, and capital improvement projects
  • Respond to tenant needs with professionalism and urgency

What We're Looking For

  • 10+ years
    of commercial property engineering experience, including
    Class A office or mixed-use buildings
  • Proven experience leading or supervising maintenance and operations teams
    (even if it is a staff of 1-2 previously)
  • Strong working knowledge of
    HVAC, electrical, and building automation systems (BAS/BMS)
  • EPA Universal Certification and technical licenses preferred (CFC, HVAC, etc.)
  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills
  • Passion for excellence and a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset
