Summer Academy Social Media Intern

Summer Academy at UGA serves to support middle and high school students' development by creating an immersive UGA experience through our academic camps. The Social Media Intern is responsible for managing the social media accounts used for Summer Academy and overseeing all photography for Summer Academy. This position calls for a person who is detail-oriented and flexible, with excellent communication and organizational skills.

The Social Media Intern will:

  • Handle all photography and daily uploads to SmugMug, occasionally delegating to Program Staff
  • Manage Summer Academy social media accounts by scheduling posts that highlight program and events, as well as monitoring comments and messages
  • Continuously develop and execute plans for promoting Summer Academy through social media and making connections on and off campus
  • Plan and implement a schedule for taking photos of camp activities and projects

Essential knowledge, abilities and competencies

  • Establish and maintain a standard of excellence through assessing and improving program functions
  • Display professionalism through punctuality, adherence to staff dress code and preparation for scheduled activities
  • Employ positive communication and exceptional customer service skills through interactions with campers, parents/guardians, staff, and instructors
  • Ability to work in a team environment and encourage open communication staff, instructors, and students
  • Implement proactive problem-solving skills to resolve issues that may arise during employment
  • Demonstrate knowledge of and execute Summer Academy policies, procedures, and Codes of Conduct
  • Experience working in Excel and willingness to learn new computer programs

The Social Media Intern will work 10-15 hours a week during the spring semester and 40 hours a week during the summer.

Job Types: Full-time, Temporary

Pay: $ $14.50 per hour
