Summer Academy Residential Camp Supervisor

Summer Academy at UGA supports middle and high school students' development by creating an immersive UGA experience through our academic camps. The Summer Academy Residential Camp Supervisor is the senior summer staff member of the residential camp program. The Residential Camp Supervisor lives in the residence hall with middle school and high school students who participate in the Summer Academy program. The Residential Camp Supervisor is responsible for supervising overnight operations and maintaining a well-organized, inclusive, and supportive environment for campers, parents/guardians, and staff members. They also manage the two Residential Head Counselors and the team of Resident Counselors. This position calls for a person who is detail-oriented and flexible, with excellent communication, supervisory, and organizational skills.
The Residential Camp Supervisor will:
- Create and communicate weekly camper rosters with room assignments and a schedule of evening activities and assignments, including schedule for resident staff and resident supervisors
- Facilitate communication between campers, parents/guardians, and staff members related to the residential program
- Manage and organize all parent/guardian communication related to residential program in conjunction with Communication Supervisor
- Manage residential check-in and check-out
- Maintain cleanliness and functionality of dorm space by communicating any issues to UGA Housing
Essential knowledge, skills, and competencies:
- Establish and maintain a standard of excellence through assessing and improving program functions
- Display professionalism through punctuality, adherence to staff dress code and preparation for scheduled activities
- Employ positive communication and exceptional customer service skills through interactions with campers, parents/guardians, staff, and instructors
- Ability to work in a team environment and encourage open communication staff, instructors, and students
- Implement proactive problem-solving skills to resolve issues that may arise during employment
- Demonstrate knowledge of and execute Summer Academy policies, procedures, and Codes of Conduct
- Experience working in Excel and willingness to learn new computer programs
The Residential Camp Supervisor will work 10-20 hours per week during the spring semester and 40 hours per week during the summer.
