Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and cooking, with experience in meal preparation and food service. As a Cook, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our dietary department operates smoothly, providing high-quality meals that meet the nutritional needs of our clients. Your expertise in food handling and safety will be essential in maintaining a clean and efficient kitchen environment.

Duties

  • Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes and dietary guidelines.
  • Collaborate with the dietary aide team to plan menus that cater to various dietary restrictions.
  • Ensure proper food handling techniques are followed at all times to maintain safety standards.
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively, including knives and other food preparation tools.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper storage of ingredients.
  • Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and assist in ordering as needed.
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations and health standards to ensure the safety of all meals served.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in the food industry, particularly in meal preparation or as a Cook is preferred.
  • Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling techniques.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong knife skills and familiarity with various cooking methods.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • A passion for cooking and providing high-quality meals that meet dietary needs.
